35th Tanabata Festival held

We would like to thank everyone for coming to our 35th Tanabata Festival over the weekend of July 6 and 7 and making this event a big success. So many people came out for the event on the very hot weekend: 10,504 visitors on Saturday and 4,786 on Sunday, a total of 15,290!

The festival kicked off with a speech by the Mayor of Fujisawa city and hosted a range of fun events and activities, including unique classroom programs, and booths, stage performances, and Bon Odori outside. In this milestone year, a projection mapping show was also performed for the first time at this event. As in the previous year, the SFC Art Exhibition was held simultaneously, and students turned their creativity into one-of-a-kind pieces of art and impressed the audience with their fresh ideas and talents.

Making a wish on a star is what people do for Tanabata, so we made a wish that the festival would be part of the unforgettable memories of everyone involved in making it happen. We expressed the wish in the festival's theme for this year, "三原色(three primary colors)," and we have a feeling that it has come true - many unforgettable things happened over the two days. Friends, families, locals, and SFC students were having a blast together, and the great performances brought together all the people at the venue. Fireworks are a big part of our tradition, and they also gave us a great summer memory. We hope you all enjoyed your time there and hope to see you again next year!
